Acrylic fiber was invented in 1941 by Dupont Corporation, witch trademarked it as Orlon.
It was released commercially in 1947 and mass produced in the 1950s.
It’s a strong and warm fabric with good fit, used in trainings and knitwear as well as boot linings, gloves, coats, jackets and slippers.
Acrylics fantasy brands are: Acrilan and Orlon.
